Our Visit to Monday Makers at Rural Arts funded by ESF Community Grants

“From the beginning of the course to the end we’ve seen some really lovely changes…”

On a cold December day, Simon and Hannah visited Thirsk to meet with a fantastic organisation doing fantastic things!!

Rural Arts is a charity that delivers inspiring and inclusive creative opportunities that enrich lives and connect communities. They lead a range of wellbeing and training programmes to support some of North Yorkshire’s most isolated and vulnerable people.

Rural Arts have been a long standing partner to Better Connect and are currently delivering a fantastic ESF funded Community Grants project called ‘Monday Makers’. This project aims to help people learn artistic and creative skills to help them move closer towards employment or further education.

In this video we meet Sorcha, the Project Manager for Community Grants who has done an amazing job with the management and delivery for this project. We also meet Laura who has been a project participant and we hear how the project has helped to gain confidence and clarity around what she would like to do next….
