Supporting Anchor Organisations to show their Impact
Sherburn and Villages Community Trust connects people, community spaces, and services across Sherburn in Elmet and surrounding villages to make an inclusive and vibrant place to live. They are the community anchor organisation in Sherburn in Elmet.
Community Anchors are small, hyper-local organisations across North Yorkshire, deeply embedded in local communities. They offer support, a host of activities and information, and play a crucial role in connecting the dots between organisations, people, services, and the needs of the community.
Through the Community Anchor Programme, Better Connect are supporting organisations to develop their skills in area’s such as marketing, communications, E&D and much more. Sherburn and Villages Community Trust identified they needed support capturing photographs for their website and social media, something our impact team could help with!
Hannah and Laura had the pleasure of spending a sunny day with the Alison, the team and volunteers. Starting at Sherburn Community Library, the team joined in on a wellbeing walk exploring the sights of Sherburn. They then had tea and biscuits in the library with some of the volunteers and participants and then joined in on a move it or lose it class at The Old Girls School.

Her role is to show the impact that Better Connect and our programmes are making in many different ways such as through social media, our website, networking, events and presentations. Hannah is passionate about creating positive environments that people feel safe to be themselves in, especially at work.
