Meet Our Programme Finance and Data Manager – Jacky

 

As part of our ‘Meet The Team’ series, over the next few weeks we’ll be focusing on our Finance Department. We’ll celebrate their roles, responsibilities, and relationships with numbers – from crunching the all important data, to processing claims and financial forecasting (we couldn’t resist the Multiply twist!)

Today, we’re hearing from our Programme Finance & Data Manager, Jacky. Joining us in November 2020, Jacky began her career with Better Connect as a Finance and Audit Coordinator before stepping into her current role in March 2022! 

Jacky dives into her data-driven journey from the commercial and financial industry to present day, where she provides invaluable support across our programmes, and manages Emily and Jonah – our Finance and Audit Coordinators.

Q. What’s your role and how long have you been in post?

 

 

A. I am the Programme Finance and Data Manager and I’ve been in this role since March 2022.

 

 

Q. What’s your previous experience and how did you come to work with numbers?

 

A. I have a background in the Commercial and Financial industry and over the last 18 years I’ve worked in roles where I’ve done a mixture of Business Support Management, Audits and Compliance, Finance, HR, Research, Data, Analysis and Systems support – so all very data heavy in different ways!

 

 

Q. What does your day to day look like?

 

A. My day to day varies depending on deadlines and specific projects I’m working on. I am responsible for supporting and coaching the Finance team ensuring timely and accurate processing of eligible finance claims as well as data collation, research, compliance, analysis and reporting for our projects, programme monitoring and undertaking internal audits.

 

 

Q. What’s your favourite part of the role?

 

A. I love supporting and coaching people and seeing them thrive in their roles. I like to think I have an eye for detail and accuracy, so I particularly enjoy analytical/compliance tasks – undertaking Internal Audits and updating performance analysis etc and I also enjoy presenting data in a way that looks visually impactful, whether that’s a graph, a tracker spreadsheet or a PowerPoint

Q. What’s your favourite thing about working in your team?

 

 

A. The team! We all get on so well. Everyone is so lovely, collaborative and kind. I feel very lucky to be part of a team who share the same values.

 

 

Q. What’s the most challenging part of your role?

 

 

A. There is a tight turnaround during claims so getting the claims and audits done in time can be tight but we have a great system for this and it works really well.

Programme Finance and Data Manager

Jacky is our Finance and Data Manager and is responsible for data collation, research, compliance, analysis and reporting for our projects as well as undertaking Internal Audits and supporting and coaching the Finance team.
