On Friday 31st January, we held an event at Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate to celebrate the impact of our programmes and partnerships across Yorkshire. This was our largest event ever with 150 people booked on, our partners, participants, friends and key people from across Yorkshire.
The theme of the event was ‘Life in Colour’ inspired by Vicky’s story, a participant on our Rise2Thrive programme. Vicky received support through the programme from New Beginnings and Mindful Photography, both organisations helped Vicky to see the colour in her life and heal after experiencing domestic abuse from a previous partner.
To bring the theme to life we used coloured goodie bags filled with treats for our attendee’s, sweets and had themed corner activities to gather stories of hope and impact.
Throughout the event, we had inspiring guest speakers Kev Curran and Luke Scott share their own stories of how finding support can lead to a ripple effect of change as they both now help and inspire others.
It was lovely to have the Mayor of York and North Yorkshire David Skaith join us. David shared why he is passionate about making a difference and how he wants to keep supporting our sector to make an impact and transform lives. Paul Cliff, Head of Adult Skills, closed the event with a talk about the Power of Partnerships, combined with a music quiz which was lots of fun!
We all left the event feeling inspired to continue to make a positive impact across Yorkshire!
