One of the Government’s five missions to kickstart economic growth with good jobs and improved productivity, Connect to Work is the latest Government initiative under their ‘Get Britain Working’ Strategy designed to tackle ‘hidden unemployment’ across the region.
Officially launched for tender last week by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, this programme will primarily support:
The programme’s goal is to help those who are currently outside the labour market to find and sustain suitable work, while also supporting individuals who are in work but struggling to maintain employment.
Across five years and two regions (York and North Yorkshire), the programme will support 1689 individuals using an evidence-based Individual Placement Support (IPS) model, ensuring the right support reaches the right people, at the right time, based on their individual circumstances.
Better Connect intend to build a partnership to deliver the IPS strand of Connect to Work, and will be submitting a bid as the Lead Partner. We are now inviting applicants from local employment support providers who wish to join this exciting new partnership opportunity.
Applicants should be aware that Connect to Work and IPS are very distinct from other employment programme models delivered by Better Connect. Organisations are strongly advised to read the accompanying Application Guidance carefully to confirm the programme’s suitability prior to applying for this opportunity.
